Job Summary (List Format): Middle School Special Education Teacher (Skills Classroom), Cedar Hill, TX (DFW Area)
- Position: Middle School Special Education Teacher for 2026-27 school year (Skills Classroom focus)
- Location: Cedar Hill, TX, Dallas-Fort Worth area
- Student Population: Special education students, including those with externalizing behaviors
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide learning activities and experiences to foster students intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth
- Develop and modify curricula to match individual student ability levels
- Prepare lessons and instructional materials tailored to student needs
- Implement and manage Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate regularly with faculty, staff, and parents/guardians for best student outcomes
- Attend and participate in meetings consistently; submit reports in a timely manner
- Maintain effective communication and organizational skills (written and oral)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsements
- Experience in special education settings (resource, self-contained, 1:1, or behavior support)
- Knowledge of ARD Committee and IEP goal-setting/implementation processes
- Ability to adapt curriculum and instruction for special needs students
- Experience through student teaching, internship, or related work
Compensation & Benefits:
- Weekly pay: $1,312 to $1,443 (based on experience)
