Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Plant Maintenance Technician (Lead) to support a high-performance manufacturing environment. This role reports directly to the Plant Manager and is responsible for maintaining facility equipment, ensuring operational reliability, and leading day-to-day maintenance activities.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, or a related field preferred.
3–5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, plumbing, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Working knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
Basic proficiency with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for work orders and maintenance tracking.
Experience using standard hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and testing devices.
Strong understanding of safety regulations (OSHA) and safe work practices, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
Proven ability to prioritize tasks and respond effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Basic leadership or lead experience (informal or formal), including task coordination or mentoring other technicians.
Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime or weekends, as needed.
Physically able to lift, climb, stand, and work in industrial environments. completed efficiently.
Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, including proper use of PPE and adherence to all safety policies and procedures.
Prioritize and coordinate daily maintenance activities to support uninterrupted production operations.
Equipment & Facility Maintenance
Perform and oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Ensure all machinery and equipment are operating safely and efficiently.
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
Preventive Maintenance & Reliability
Execute and maintain preventive maintenance schedules.
Identify recurring equipment issues and implement long-term corrective actions.
Support equipment upgrades, installations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Documentation & Compliance
Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and equipment history records.
Assist in developing and updating SOPs and maintenance procedures.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and company standards.
Support internal and external audits as needed.
Equipment Monitoring & Continuous Improvement
Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability and efficiency.
Collaborate with Engineering and Production teams to resolve technical issues.
Recommend process improvements to reduce downtime and maintenance costs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Production, Quality, and Operations teams to align maintenance priorities with production goals.
Assist in ensuring proper inventory levels of spare parts and maintenance supplies.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or high-volume production environment.
Experience with PLC systems (troubleshooting, basic programming, or diagnostics).
Familiarity with automation systems, conveyors, and robotics.
Knowledge of predictive maintenance technologies (vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasound, etc.).
Experience using and maintaining a CMMS for tracking maintenance activities and equipment history.
Certification or advanced training in electrical systems, welding, or machining.
Experience supporting equipment installations, upgrades, or capital projects.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), or continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience in a battery manufacturing or chemical processing environment (highly preferred if applicable).
OSHA certifications or safety training (e.g., OSHA 10/30, LOTO, confined space, arc flash).
Prior experience in a lead or senior technician role, including mentoring or training team members.
Forklift, scissor lift, or other industrial equipment certifications.
Availability to lift to 65 pounds.
Work during the weekend as needed.
