Job Description

Mon, 03/30/2026 - 04:04

Huron helps its clients drive growth, enhance performance and sustain leadership in the markets they serve. We collaborate with education organizations to develop strategies and implement solutions that enable the transformative change our clients need to own their future. Together, we empower clients to drive innovation, create sustainable funding streams and deliver better student outcomes.

Today, leaders of higher education institutions and academic medical centers are spending too much time reacting to market forces, rather than focusing on the essential priorities that help students, faculty and staff thrive. The most productive path forward requires an intentional approach and innovative thinking, whereby stakeholders across the entire institution rally around a shared vision and embrace the hard work of effecting change.

You’ll help our clients to achieve organizational effectiveness, improve student outcomes, implement new technologies and align resources and investments to ensure long-term sustainability.

Join our team as the expert you are now and create your future.

Are you ready to make impact with your leadership experience and contracting expertise? As a senior member of Huron’s Research Office team, you will negotiate and prepare clinical research study contracts that include Confidentiality Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Clinical Trial Agreements, Nonconforming Subcontracts, Master Service Agreements, Material Transfer Agreements, and Data Transfer Agreements.

Required

  • U.S. work authorization is required
  • Huron requires a bachelor’s degree in a field related to this position or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in research administration, and/or legal-rated experience, with contracts

Preferred:

  • Advanced Contract Management Skills: Demonstrated expertise in managing complex, high-stakes contracts, including Clinical Trial Agreements (CTA). Mastery in contract law, particularly in research agreements, with a systematic approach from redlining to finalizing.
  • Strategic Communication and Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to strategically communicate intricate contract details and negotiation outcomes with clarity and precision. Experience in setting clear expectations and addressing potential concerns proactively.
  • Analytical Skills for Contract Analysis: Deep analytical skills to dissect, interpret, and effectively manage complex contract clauses.
  • Relationship Management: Strong track record of building and maintaining collaborative relationships with diverse groups, customizing approaches based on client dynamics and situational needs.
  • Process Improvement and Resilience: Experience in embracing and leading change for continuous process improvement. Resilience in handling unexpected demands and sudden changes in contract negotiations and workflows.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with federal regulations related to clinical research, including NIH regulations covering NIH-funded inventions. Experience in research or healthcare compliance.
  • Administrative Experience in Research Settings: Experience working in an administrative or business office of a university, hospital, or research institute, particularly in roles involving complex contract management.
  • Leadership and Training: Demonstrated leadership in ensuring stakeholder alignment and training activities. Ability to mentor and develop technical skills in others.
  • Project Management and Efficiency: Proven capability to balance multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks efficiently. Demonstrated ability to maintain high utilization and throughput targets without compromising quality.
  • Innovation and Industry Best Practices: Engagement in practice development projects and staying abreast of new industry trends and contractual nuances. Contribution to aligning the organization’s point of view with industry best practices.
