Position Overview

We are seeking a highly collaborative, technical Engineering Manager to guide, mentor, and grow a dedicated team of product engineers. In this hybrid leadership track, you will seamlessly balance strategic people management with deep technical ownership. You will collaborate closely with Product and Design squads to prioritize high-value user features while proactively managing technical debt, system architecture, and operational scalability. Serving as a crucial bridge to our UK-based enterprise clients, you will foster a high-performance culture of absolute engineering excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product & Technical Alignment: Formulate and track engineering team OKRs in direct alignment with product managers and design leads, balancing feature delivery speeds with structural refactoring.
  • Architectural Oversight: Guide technical discovery phases, evaluate distributed system architectures, review complex API designs, and contribute hands-on code adjustments when necessary.
  • Team Growth & Mentorship: Mentor engineers across varying seniority levels through regular 1:1 sessions, custom career mapping trajectories, and actionable feedback loops.
  • Operational Metrics Tuning: Monitor and optimize team and system health baselines, utilizing metrics such as Service Level Objectives ( SLOs ), code error rates, cycle times, and cloud infrastructure expenditure metrics.
  • Incident & Workflow Control: Oversee live incident response pipelines and deep post-mortems, ensuring effective technical resolution and automated regression fixes for recurring outages.
  • AI Tooling Adoption: Guide the calculated, secure adoption of modern AI engineering assistance tools to maximize team velocity without compromising code security or performance.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven track record operating as an Engineering Manager or Technical Team Lead within high-growth SaaS, cloud-native, or high-traffic web environments.
  • Deep systems design literacy building, scaling, and maintaining distributed web architectures, high-volume backend microservices, and databases.
  • Demonstrated capability to make data-driven architectural trade-offs between business feature roadmaps and system health optimization.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication mechanics, optimized to explain complex non-deterministic tech blockers to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Location Context: Fully remote-first working infrastructure flexibility open exclusively to qualified technical leaders permanently based inside London, United Kingdom .

Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)

  • Direct production engineering history utilizing React, TypeScript, Python, and PostgreSQL databases.
  • Hands-on background with modern DevOps primitives, automated testing strategies, and modern CI/CD orchestration models.
  • Familiarity running data observability tools, cloud cost monitoring engines, and unified error tracking platforms.

What We Offer

  • The exceptional technical runway to anchor the engineering foundation for a globally dominant media-tech SaaS ecosystem.
  • Highly competitive UK salary package supplemented by annual learning and development allowances.
  • Complete work-from-home remote parameters backed by a monthly home high-speed internet reimbursement allowance and custom office setup budget.
  • Five weeks of fully paid vacation leave per year, comprehensive sick leave, and paid parental leave frameworks.
